Cook & Dine at a Gastronomic Society
Cook and enjoy a meal in one of the traditional gastronomic societies in San Sebastian! Cooking societies, also known as txokos, are a key element of the foodie culture in the Basque Country and specially in San Sebastian. They are private, and access is possible only by invitation. Seats are strictly limited, so early booking is strongly advised.

What to expect
Enjoy a meal in a private cooking club, deep into the heart of the Basque foodie traditions.
Chef & Guide: No worries about shopping and cooking. The member of the gastronomic society will be your chef, while one of our guides will go with you to help making the experience better.
Cooking experience & show. It is possible to help the chef in the kitchen. A learn-by-doing way of Basque traditional recipes.
Menu
You will enjoy a Traditional Basque menu based on seasonal fresh high quality products. Also, we are happy to design a custom menu with any other local products available in the market.
The traditional Basque Menu is composed of:
- Assortment of starters (ie. A local pintxo, grilled baby squid, mushrooms (Edulis boletus), tuna salad...)
- Main course based of seasonal fresh fish (hake, cod...)
- A charcoal grilled T-bone beef steak (txuleta).
- Basque dessert
- Coffee
Drinks are included: Rioja Red & white wine. Beer. Cider. Softdrinks and water.
You may also request a custom menu with seasonal products based on market availability (Need quotation).
